The 1st International Congress on Education and Young People in Social Difficulty during the Transition to Adult Life - TRANSITIONS 2021 - will be held on 1 and 2 December 2021. This Congress is promoted by the Research Groups TABA, of the UNED, and Garaian, of the UPV/EHU.
The main purpose of the Congress, under the slogan The path towards full autonomy and social commitment, is to provide innovative responses to the challenges currently facing young people in general, and the most vulnerable groups in particular, in their transition to adulthood. Thus, the ultimate aim is to contribute to the improvement of socio-educational action aimed at young people and, therefore, at society in general.
The topics included in the Congress agenda cover the main issues facing those working with young people in education today: advances and results of research and knowledge transfer on adolescence and youth in transition to adulthood / in social difficulty; the training of professionals working with young people; networking: the role of universities, professionals, organisations and government; the process of achieving autonomy among young people: resilience, empowerment and social welfare.
The conference is aimed at academics, professionals and students from the fields of education, social education, social work, psychology, law, sociology and other social sciences, interested in sharing knowledge and experiences in this field.
The congress will be held both online and in person. The UNED will host the Congress at the Faculty of Education on 1 December and theCentro Carlos Santamaríaof the UPV/EHU in Donostia-San Sebastián will host it on 2 December.
